Zusammenfassung:Nowadays, extensive usage of composite material can be seen in many fields such as aeronautical, automobiles, etc. However, Alumnium metal matrix composite (AMMC) materials play a vital role in various applications due to its high strength to weight ratio. In order to improve the stiffness property of the composite materials, nano particles are used as a reinforcing agent. This paper presents the wear characteristics of Aluminium alloy reinforced with Graphene particulates. Aluminium alloy Al 6061 is selected as the matrix material and graphene particulates with varying percentage of 0%, 0.5% and 1% as reinforced materials in AMMC’s. The research work is carried out using pin on disc experimental setup in order to analyze the tribological behavior of AMMC Al 6061 with graphene. Experimental conditions are limited to a sliding velocity of about 1.256 m/sec, fixed track length of about 2000 meters and varied normal load of 20 N, 30 N and 40 N. The results show that, decreases in the wear loss and frictional force as the percentage of Graphene increases from 0% to 1% for all loads.
