Zusammenfassung:Objective: this paper aimed to propose guidelines for the management of the relationship with alumni of a Brazilian Postgraduate Program in Administration. Methodology: qualitative research, based on interviews with coordinators and consultation of Lattes curricula of graduates of the program studied, as well as analysis of documents, reports and alumni portals of the best evaluated programs in the area. Results: proposition of guidelines for managing the alumni relationship based on categories resulting from the qualitative analysis carried out: awareness and prioritization by the Program; student awareness; monitoring of graduates; communication; maintaining the link; and monitoring of results. Limitations of the research: this study is limited to the area of Administration, although it may serve as a basis for the strategic management of postgraduate programs in a more comprehensive way, with the necessary adaptations to their realities. Originality: this paper promotes a discussion on the alumni management in postgraduate studies, expanding theory and knowledge about university management and proposing a practical guide for managing the relationship with alumni of postgraduate programs.
