Zusammenfassung: | Ships moving on the surface of the water will produce waves that usually affect the operational safety of the ship. The movement of ships due to high-speed vessels generates large waves. The influence of the ship’s speed can affect the amount of wave contour and wave generation impacted the ships. By knowing the characteristics of the resulting wave that includes wave height, wavelength, wave period, and direction of propagation, will be useful in determining the resistance that occurred along the hull. The purpose of this research is to investigate and interpret the wave contour and wave generation cargo ship every speed increase. The method used in this research is using Hullspeed Maxsurf software. A general cargo ship was the object of the study. The simulated ship speed is 1 knot to 11.5 knots with the increase in speed is 1 knot. The results obtained from this research showed the larger wave amplitude and higher added resistance occurred for each speed increase. |
