Zusammenfassung:The mechanical properties and structure of Ti–6Al–2Sn–4Zr–2Mo–0.1Si (Ti6242S) and Ti–6Al–7Nb alloys subjected to annealing in air at 700°C for 100 h are studied. The Ti–6Al–7Nb alloy in the oxidized state is shown to retain plasticity; this fact was not observed for the other alloyed titanium compositions. The cause for such mechanical behavior of the Ti–6Al–7Nb alloy is related to the substantially lower gas saturation of its surface during annealing.
