Diaryllead( ii ) species stabilized by C , O -chelating ligands

A new family of C , O -chelating aryl ligands, 2-(ROCH 2 )C 6 H 4 , R = Me, i Pr, t Bu, was successfully introduced to the low-valent organolead chemistry. Two homoleptic plumbylenes were obtained using a straightforward protocol. The corresponding hexaaryldiplumbanes were also reported.
