Solvothermal synthesis of high-performance magnetic cobalt nanowires and bonded anisotropic magnets prepared thereof

In this research, we report the effects of the solvothermal synthesis including the reaction temperature ( T r ), reaction time ( t r ), and hexadecylamine concentrations (HDA c ) on the morphology and magnetic properties of Co nanowires (Co NWs). The obtained results reveal the great impact of T r...

Zusammenfassung:In this research, we report the effects of the solvothermal synthesis including the reaction temperature ( T r ), reaction time ( t r ), and hexadecylamine concentrations (HDA c ) on the morphology and magnetic properties of Co nanowires (Co NWs). The obtained results reveal the great impact of T r , t r , and HDA c on magnetic properties of Co NWs and magnets prepared thereof. The best magnetic properties were found in the Co NWs of the aspect ratio m between the length L and diameter D , m  =  L / D  ~ 10 synthesized at T r  = 175 °C, t r  = 20 h, and HDA c  = 0.6 mmol with the saturation magnetization ( M s ) of 146 emu/g and coercivity ( i H c ) of 4.1 kOe. These Co NWs were used for preparing bonded anisotropic magnet with the mass density ρ  = 5.8 g/cm 3 , M s  = 6.31 kG, M r  = 5.85 kG, i H c  = 6.76 kOe, b H c  = 5.18 kOe, and energy product (BH) max  = 7.74 MGOe.
