Zusammenfassung: | The effect of the new technology of biomimetic laser shock peening on the stress intensity factor is studied for specimens made of the 2024-T351 aluminum alloy. A 3D finite element model is developed for investigating the effect of biomimetic laser shock peening on the stress intensity factors and the residual fatigue lifetime of specimens. It is shown that under such processing the stress intensity factors of treated specimens are reduced efficiently, which substantially increase their residual fatigue lifetime. |
