Bacille Calmette-Guérin vaccine induced lymphadenitis in infants and children masquerading with tubercular lymphadenitis at tertiary care hospital in North India

MATERIALS AND METHODS Setting, Participants and Study Design This observational study was conducted in the pathology department of a tertiary medical care center in North India. [14,15] ZN stain for AFB was positive in all twelve cases of suppurative lymphadenitis which is in concordance with the results of previous studies, in which ZN stain was positive in 91.67% of suppurative lymphadenitis[3] and another study, in which ZN stain was positive in 66.6% of cases of suppurative lymphadenitis.1151 In case of non-suppurative BCG lymphadenitis, in its natural course, it remits spontaneously over the duration of few weeks.
