Zusammenfassung:[11] The presence of acid-fast bacilli (AFB) in the smear or positive culture for Mycobacterium bovis of aspirated material from the enlarged lymph node confirms the diagnosis of BCG lymphadenitis. [...]in such patients fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) along with clinical picture is considered to be safer and minimally invasive procedure for making a diagnosis of BCG lymphadenitis and abstaining an uncalled use of anti-tubercular medications. MATERIALS AND METHODS Setting, Participants and Study Design This observational study was conducted in the pathology department of a tertiary medical care center in North India. [14,15] ZN stain for AFB was positive in all twelve cases of suppurative lymphadenitis which is in concordance with the results of previous studies, in which ZN stain was positive in 91.67% of suppurative lymphadenitis[3] and another study, in which ZN stain was positive in 66.6% of cases of suppurative lymphadenitis.1151 In case of non-suppurative BCG lymphadenitis, in its natural course, it remits spontaneously over the duration of few weeks. [...]only regular follow-up and reassurance is needed in such cases.
