Zusammenfassung:The article is devoted to the problem of formation of readiness for engineering activity among graduates of technical universities, as well as to the question of how and by what means the presence of this readiness should be determined. Based on the analysis of the professional standard of an engineer, it is shown that the readiness for the professional activity of an engineer in a graduate of a technical university should be considered as an integrative quality of the subject of this activity, including motivation for the profession of an engineer and self-improvement of the personality of a future engineer, his moral and ethical qualities, the necessary knowledge and skills, experience successful professional activity. For the practical organization of control of readiness for engineering activities, the following components are proposed: motivation for the profession of an engineer and self-improvement of the individual, its moral and ethical characteristics, as well as the necessary knowledge, skills and experience of successful professional activity. As a tool for assessing readiness, it is proposed to form an electronic student portfolio, in which, over the years of study at the university, information is recorded and accumulated about the individual achievements of students.
