Zusammenfassung:The poem deals with the rock musician Freddy Mercury and from my reading is shown to be exemplifying the Dionysian spirit through Mercury's movements, his performance and his vocal range. Nietzsche (Birth of Tragedy 20) sluit die inleidende gedeelte van die boek af deur 'n vermaning aan sommige lesers te rig: [They] will be shocked at seeing an æsthetic problem taken so seriously, especially if they can recognise in art no more than a merry diversion, a readily dispensable court-jester to the "earnestness of existence": as if no one were aware of the real meaning of this confrontation with the "earnestness of existence." Nietzsche (Contra 70) spreek veral kritiek uit op die opera Parsifal: "For "Parsifal" is a work of rancour, of revenge, of the most secret concoction of poisons with which to make an end of the first conditions of life, it is a bad work. Volgens Ulusoy (245) word kontemporere Dionisiese musiek veral geassosieer met "punk, hard-core, metal, straight edge, grunge, old-school rap, electronica, post-punk, alternative rock".
