Acetylated α-Tubulin and Parkinson's disease: a study in post-mortem human brain

To date, a-tubulin acetylation is strongly investigated because of its unbalance in different cellular and animal PD models [3,4,5]. [...]recent data obtained in postmortem human brain show that acetylated a-tubulin is decreased in PD [6]. Dorsal motor nucleus of vagus, locus coeruleus and substanti...

Zusammenfassung:To date, a-tubulin acetylation is strongly investigated because of its unbalance in different cellular and animal PD models [3,4,5]. [...]recent data obtained in postmortem human brain show that acetylated a-tubulin is decreased in PD [6]. Dorsal motor nucleus of vagus, locus coeruleus and substantia nigra show a significant accumulation in neuronal cell bodies while acetylated a-tubulin decreases in the bundles of fibers of putamen. [...]this is the first study that points out a redistribution of acetylated a-tubulin in PD human brains and its interplay with a-Synuclein during Lewy bodies morphogenesis.
