Zusammenfassung: | Two-dimensional (2D) organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHPs) have drawn tremendous attention on account of their structural tunability, simple synthesis methods, and superior properties. Among these, 2D cadmium-based perovskites, exhibiting reversible phase transition, photoluminescence, and ferroelectric properties, have been reported. Herein, we have synthesized a new Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) type perovskite, (thiophene-2-methylammonium)
2
CdCl
4
, which possesses blue-white emission and high phase-transition temperature. Thus, the compound might have potential applications in temperature sensor, dielectric switch or light-emitting diode (LED) fields. In brief, this study presents a valuable perspective on the design and synthesis of 2D cadmium-based multifunctional perovskites.
