Zusammenfassung:— We report a series of ( Z )-5-(4-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-thioxothiazolidin-4-ones containing halogens at different positions of the benzylidene moiety. The new compounds exhibit fluorogenic properties and form fluorescent complexes with FAST. We showed that 3-halogen-4-hydroxybenzyliden-rhodanines can be used as ligands for the fluorogen-activating protein FAST in fluorescence microscopy.
