Zusammenfassung: | Comments on the article by T. Kaiser et al. (see record 2022-49867-001). Their article moves the field of psychotherapy in an important direction and provides empirical structure that has implications for two of the unfulfilled promises of the field. The first is understanding the mechanisms of change in psychotherapy and how they interact with individual characteristics. The second is effectively matching patients to treatment based on those characteristics. This commentary addresses these implications and suggests future directions that arise from the work of Kaiser et al. in the context of how clinical practice guidelines for treatment are developed.
