Zusammenfassung:The sustainable development of the Northern and Arctic territories of Russia is inextricably linked with development of the mineral resource potential – deposits of metal ores, coal, mining chemical raw materials and other minerals. The necessary attribute of the technology for extracting minerals from the subsoil is the means of destroying rocks, among the most important of which are the cheap explosives (referred to as granulites in Russian technical literature). Assessment of the properties of granulites components (ammonium nitrate, ammonium saltpeter) based considering the differences in physical and chemical characteristics, analyzing the totality of manufacturing processes, studying the conditions of use is aimed at: ensuring the safety of components within transportation, storage and use; at maintaining the required level of safety when handling granulites, to achieve high explosive and economic efficiency. The considered methodological approach is aimed at expanding the consideration of such factors as climatic conditions (harsh climate), insufficient development of transport and energy communications, mining conditions (complex) of field development, and other complicating factors. Target indicators of comparison of ammonium nitrate, are considered: technological properties, modification of technological properties, aspects of production technology, regulated technical indicators and other parameters. Recommendations are given on the choice of the type of ammonium nitrate, as a component of the cheap explosives, in development of medium and small deposits of solid minerals in the conditions of the Russian Arctic.
