Smart roads in the Russian Federation: Regional informatization practice

Current changes, established trends and existing directions of development require all systems to rebuild on new «rails» of movement into the future. The «rails» of development today are active processes of informatization, intelligence, and digitalization. Informatization creates a high-tech environment associated with the development of smart physical and information infrastructure, industry-specific and integrated information services, systems, platforms, etc. Digital transformation will be built on integrating fully functional smart systems. The country's smart road should not c comprise «scraps» and «fragments» of roads with different levels of implementation and functioning of elements of intelligent transport systems, but represent a formed unified transport system. A good regional practice exists in the country, but this is not enough for digital change.
