Leak Tightness Assessment of Sealing Assemblies in Low-Pressure Isolation Valves

The leak tightness of seal assemblies in pipeline valves is analyzed. It is shown that the leak tightness of sealing elements does not depend on the area of contact surfaces but rather on the presence of a continuous narrow strip formed by individual contact areas. Zusammenfassung:The leak tightness of seal assemblies in pipeline valves is analyzed. It is shown that the leak tightness of sealing elements does not depend on the area of contact surfaces but rather on the presence of a continuous narrow strip formed by individual contact areas. Witness specimens prepared using the proposed technology for creating a tight space between the sealing surfaces were tested for leak tightness.
