Zusammenfassung:With our monstrous tools of power, excluded from the production of what is of the future we have increasingly become consumers; we consume not only food and drink, clothing, automobiles, toxines, sexuality-but also advertising, public opinion, political parties, art and literature, all within the emptiness of utmost activity and yet in a state of restless passivity. According to Foucault, every such system is an "historical a priori" and has no history; it simply is there and all of a sudden it will vanish. According to Sklovsky, art is "obviously not a marching to music, it is a dancing and a measured step, which is felt-to put it more precisely, a motion which is created only that we may feel and sense it." Art breaks the automatism of habit: we need art in order to restore our power of perception for life and reality, which got lost in the automatic processes of our existence.
