Zusammenfassung: | Citizen science provides an opportunity for the public to contribute to, engage in and learn about science in the context of researchers' construction of scientific knowledge. The following paper explores four undergraduate students' understanding of science inquiry in relation to a citizen science project they developed for high school participants. The findings show that through their involvement in the study and the production of this article, which included a reflective writing and discursive component, the undergraduate students were able to broaden and deepen their notions of science inquiry. The students' development suggests that conceptualizing and implementing a citizen science project with high school students provides a unique platform not just for students' but also for teachers' development in the understanding of science inquiry. |
