Zusammenfassung: | The linguistic performance of a teacher owns great significance for generating a successful communication through classroom discourse. A successful classroom communication results into triumphant transfer of conceptual and actual knowledge to the students. This process of communication is disturbed by changing the medium of instruction (MOI) at different levels and it may have negative impact on the linguistic performance of the teachers as well as learning performance of the students. Present research was particularly accomplished to appraise the stance of teachers on change of medium of instruction (COMOI) in Pakistan. A quantitative research method was followed and a questionnaire (close ended) was used for collection of relevant data. A multilayered sampling technique was used for selection of respondents. After comprehensive data analysis, it was revealed that male and female teachers have considerable difference of opinion concerning consequences of COMOI. The study further reveals that COMOI creates more trouble for the students' learning performance than teachers' linguistic performance. |
