Zusammenfassung:Molten salts are growing in popularity as heat transfer fluids in various energy-storage technologies. The most important quantity determining the properties of the molten salt is the specific heat capacity. In this contribution, various sample preparation techniques and configurations of the DSC measurement are discussed. The measurements were performed on a potassium and sodium nitrate mixture, which was studied using SEM, EDS and XRD. The most suitable experimental setup as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each of the measurement configurations were then defined.
