Zusammenfassung:The main purpose of this research is to investigate the English vocabulary learning strategies in Lahore, Pakistan. Sample has been taken from 181 students which are from public and 107 students which are from private sector studying in schools at the secondary level. This study was quantitative in nature. This study explores the influence of independent variables like gender, medium of instructions, academic majors, and sectors i.e., private & public on the student's use of English vocabulary learning strategies. Data was collected using two instruments Individual Background Information (IBQ) and Vocabulary learning Strategies (VLS). Data was analyzed through using several descriptive statistics. T-Test and chi-square was utilized to examine associations between gender and individual strategies belonging to Metacognitive and Cognitive categories. Students from public sector or private sector reported more use of cognitive strategies (Mean=2.17, SD=.44) instead of Metacognitive strategies (Means=2.09, SD=405).
