Zusammenfassung: | The oil export industry dominates the world's economy and it is highly dependent on oil pipelines. Due to malicious or unintentional tampering and vandalism, exposed pipelines are susceptible to malfunctioning. Moreover, the huge length of the pipelines and the harsh environment in which the pipe passes through makes continuous structural health monitoring (SHM) of pipelines using traditional methods is difficult and costly. The recent development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless sensor technology opened wide horizons for remote monitoring and made it easier, higher efficient, and in real-time. This paper presents a monitoring system for pipeline health based on the IoT technology using AWS IOT core and MQTT protocol as software and off-shelf Arduino board as hardware. |
