Zusammenfassung:The study analyzed the changes of open plan classrooms improvement for more than 30 years until 2013 in all municipalities of Tokyo. The main findings are as follows. 1) The number of “open type” partitions in open classrooms has decreased rapidly in recent years. 2) On the other hand, “sliding door type” has become the mainstream. 3) The area of multipurpose space adjoining to the classrooms is shrinking.
