Zusammenfassung: | Recently the customers have chances to experience the images of new types of displays such as OLED, QD Display, and Mini LED LCD. However, the numbers measured by traditional methods may be less relevance to the users' experiences. Contrast and its variance depending on the viewing angle are important factors of display image quality. Although users normally perceive the contrast when black and white patterns appear together on the screen, the exiting method calculates the contrast ratio by measuring patterns separately. In this study, we suggest the new assessments on contrast ratio and viewing angle that reflect the users' perceived image quality. These are based on halation of IDMS which uses the patterns that black and white appear simultaneously [1]. Moreover, we conduct the subjective evaluation experiment in order to verify the new assessment. As a result, the suggested assessments explained well users' experience on contrast ratio. It is also confirmed the higher the number of local dimming zones, the better the experience of image quality for consumers. |
