Zusammenfassung:— The disaccharide Xylβ1-2Manβ was synthesized for the first time in a spacer-armed form. This structural fragment is typical of the N -chains of plant cell glycoproteins and is not found in mammals. It is assumed that plants have proteins that specifically recognize the Xylβ1-2Manβ motif; therefore, molecular probes based on this disaccharide are of interest for searching, isolating, and finding the cellular localization of Xylβ1-2Manβ-recognizing lectins and enzymes.
