Zusammenfassung:By the interaction of Er(NO 3 ) 3 with a buffer Hchc/Na(chc) solution (Hchc is cyclohexanecarboxylic acid) Er 3 (chc) 9 (Hchc) 0.5 complex ( 1 ) is obtained. The structure of 1 is determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex is a 1D coordination polymer with the pseudohexagonal packing of polymer chains. The chains have an unusual helical shape, and owing to steric features of the cyclohexanecarboxylate anion, the cavities of the loose chain packing accommodate Hchc solvate molecules. Heating of 1 in air results in the removal of Hchc molecules and the formation of Er(chc) 3 stable up to 200 °C.
