WHATEVER

In America, there has been a deplorable and quite obvious failure of public education, with the best educational institutions benefitting only a small percentage of self-disciplined and ambitious and largely self-taught students. In addition to not having been taught language well, we as a people in general have not been taught discipline, respect for accuracy in the humanities and daily life (but we must have it in science, which is more serious and judged to be more respectable), logical thinking, and the art and value of being completely understood.
