Zusammenfassung:A linear correlation established between TiO 2 and P 2 O 5 contents in rocks based on a large dataset substantiates that titanium (together with calcium and iron oxides) serves as a geochemical barrier for phosphorus. The most probable mechanism in the supergene processes is phosphate sorption on titanium dioxide and hydroxide, in particular, on leucoxene, which was confirmed by experimental data.
