Zusammenfassung: | •Novel high entropy intermetallic compounds (HEICs) exhibit peculiar segregation.•HEICs with varying chemical composition may have a single crystal structure.•Single C14 Laves phase (TiNb)(VCrNiFe) having a varying chemical composition.•The findings provide scientific background for developing functionally graded HEICs.
Chemical micro-segregation in newly developed high entropy intermetallic compounds (HEICs) is studied. A novel concept, single phase HEICs with varying chemical composition at micro-scale is introduced. The findings provide scientific background for developing functionally graded high entropy intermetallic compounds (FG-HEICs), in which the high integrity between the constituent phases may result in superior properties. |
