Zusammenfassung:Corrosion resistance in hydrogen sulfide-containing environments of the main structural steels used at infrastructure facilities of gas fields has been investigated. The rates of corrosion and the composition of the resulting corrosion products, which differs for different steels, were determined. The phase composition of the resulting products (crystalline or X-ray amorphous) affects their protective ability. It was found that under the moisture condensation conditions, a localized pitting damage occurs under unstable corrosion products. It was determined that dangerous corrosion consequences, typical for hydrogenation under the hydrogen sulfide corrosion conditions, become evident on the studied carbon and low-alloyed steel samples.
