Zusammenfassung:The study aims at evaluating the mechanical properties of aluminium MMCs reinforced with particles of SiC and Gr prepared by powder metallurgy route. Fabricated composites are with Al7075 as matrix material with particle sizes of 24 and 50 µm and by varying SiC weight percentage from 6 to 18% in steps of 6 wt% with a constant quantity of 4 wt% of Gr. Samples were tested for density and mechanical properties like hardness, tensile and compressive strength in accordance with the ASTM standards. Results were statistically analysed using ANOVA at 5% significance level. The results of density and mechanical properties of the composite increase with smaller particle size matrix material and increasing weight percentage of SiC reinforcement. Results of ANOVA showed that the most affecting significant factor for hardness, tensile and compressive strength was SiC wt% followed by Al7075 particle size.
