Zusammenfassung:Capabilities of YAG ceramics doped with 10% Yb ions for operation as a radiation balanced laser are evaluated. Parameters of the optimal cooling and radiation balanced lasing for YAG-Yb 3+ ceramics are determined. It is shown, that YAG-Yb ceramics have better characteristics for optical cooling and lasing generation compared to ZBLANP-Yb 3+ and Rb 2 NaYF 6 -Yb 3+ .
