Zusammenfassung:Measuring data are presented for the molar heat capacity of pyrochlore gadolinium stannate and its thermodynamic functions are calculated in the 298.15–1350 K range of temperatures. The Gibbs energy of formation of gadolinium stannate from gadolinium(III) and tin(IV) oxides is estimated. High-temperature diffraction is used to determine the cubic lattice parameter of Gd 2 Sn 2 O 7 as a function of temperature, and the coefficients of thermal expansion in the range of 299–1273 K were calculated.
