Zusammenfassung: | Electrical energy is the most common type of energy used in day today life. Electrical power is generated and transmitted to load centers in continuous form at different voltage levels. In certain applications the power has to be delivered to the load in short duration typically ranging from few nano seconds to hundreds of microsecond duration. Most commonly used method to generate these fast electric pulses is by charging the high voltage capacitors in short duration and discharging the capacitor rapidly. In this paper different charging techniques employed for charging different high voltage pulse generators are presented. Simulation is carried on pulsed power circuits with resistive, inductive, unipolar and bipolar charging modes. The merits and demerits of each charging method are discussed. Also, factors affecting output waveform of high voltage pulsed circuits are presented. |
