Holographic interferometry of phase objects by recording lateral shear holograms on two carriers placed in series

Techniques for recording a pair of lateral shear holograms at a time on two carriers arranged one after the other are considered. Resulting interference patterns are variable-sensitivity images of phase changes induced by the object. The techniques were tested in experiments with planar poly(methyl methacrylate) samples subjected to heat treatment. Interference patterns confirming the efficiency of the techniques in studying fast processes are presented.
