Phase transitions in lead scandoniobate PbSc0.5Nb0.5O3

Crystals of PbSc0.5Nb0.5O3 are investigated by x-ray diffraction and optical spectroscopy. It is found that the phase transformations in PbSc0.5Nb0.5O3 are governed by two mechanisms: displacive ferroelectric phase transitions and consistent rotations of oxygen octahedra.
