Zusammenfassung:The present article is concerned with the development of a mathematical model for describing the Portevin–Le Chatelier (PLC) effect. The present report provides a brief analytical overview of the existing models of the PLC effect, considering all the merits and limitations, as well as formulated requirements for the developed model. The fundamental principles of the three-level model are presented with a particular focus on the sub-model for describing the interaction of impurity atoms with dislocations. Some results of model-generated numerical calculations are noticed, including data on determining the limiting concentration of impurity atoms in the vicinity of dislocation core obtained by the method of molecular dynamics.
