Report of IDECG Working Group on lower limits of energy and protein and upper limits of protein intakes

Durnin et al note that there is no convincing evidence of increased metabolic efficiency in basal metabolic rate (BMR), when BMR is expressed per unit of fat free mass (FFM). The research needs for low energy and high protein intakes are listed.
