Zusammenfassung:The creation of mixed sorbents with the benefits of both sorptional purification by activated carbon and oxidative purification by oxide catalysts is of great interest today. A possible catalyst is manganese dioxide applied to the surface of activated coal at the activation stage. The activation of lignite by potassium permanganate gives rise to composite sorbents, which combine a base of porous activated coal with applied surface particles of manganese oxides, an oxidation catalyst.
