Structuring of a Liquid in a Water–Lanthanide (or Nickel) Salt–D2EHPA–Diluent System

A structure that exists for more than 2 h is created from two immiscible liquids based on an aqueous solution of PrCl 3 (or YbCl 3 , or NiCl 2 ) and di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in 1,2-dichloroethane with an extended vertical liquid interface.
