Zusammenfassung:To reduce the damage by heavy rain which is becoming extremely severe, it is required to provide an appropriate flood information and to make an suitable index for resident’s evacuation action. The purpose of this study is to consider the appropriate timing and classify residents' evacuation behavior during floods by analyzing the evacuation action linked with simulated flood inundation from 15 breaching locations in Kawajima Town, Saitama Prefecture. From the analysis results, the inundation characteristics of Kawajima Town which is affected by Nagaraku embankment, natural levee and inland water inundation from the Ando River are clarified. The conditions whether residents can evacuate or not are revealed. Moreover, the evacuation patterns for saving life by themselves are classified using a risk map with the information in a flood hazard map.
