Zusammenfassung:Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is more common in people who have poor control of their blood glucose, and also who have problem with controlling their lipid profile, blood pressure, and body weight within normal range. [...]the recording is cumbersome and needs to be done only by trained personnel. The procedure is relatively costly. [...]the present study was undertaken to study the electrophysiological properties of peripheral nerves in patients suffering from T2DM and to observe the effect of different determinants of DPN on nerve conduction study considering NCS as gold standard for screening DPN. Group II comprised 25 cases without symptoms of peripheral neuropathy and Group III comprised 30 age, and body mass index (BMI) matched healthy subjects as control group.
