Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, a generalized analytical approach is introduced to study the random crosstalk in multicore/multimode fibers. The proposed method is based on the stochastic differential equations (SDEs) for the coupled modal power as well as the coupled power covariance. While the existing analytical formulas for the inter-core/mode crosstalk are accurate in the weakly coupled regime, the proposed analytical tool is exact both in the weakly coupled regime and the strongly coupled regime. In addition to that, the proposed analytical method can compute the covariance of the modal power which is beyond the existing methods. Asymptotic behaviors of the power transfer matrix and the power covariance transfer matrix are discussed. |
