Zusammenfassung:In this issue of Interface , Guest Editor Richard McCreery notes that if “one takes an optimistic view of molecular electronics, there is support for the idea of a paradigm shift of a scale as large as that from vacuum tubes to transistors that occurred in the 1950s and 1960s.” It is appropriate then, in this same issue, to report on a similar shift that is occurring in the field of scholarly publishing and on the challenges ECS faces in publishing its content.
