Zusammenfassung: | The use of new herbal preparations having both antibacterial and positive effects on the functioning of other body systems in the complex therapy can become an effective way to solve the problem of primary and secondary resistance to M. leprae. The safety and effectiveness of these drugs that have a mild and gentle effect simultaneously with a therapeutic effect in small doses, is extremely significant for long-term therapy. The antibacterial activity had been studied in vitro (using M. lufu as an example) and the antiviral activity was examined in vivo on Shepard's model. The results of the study have shown that lofant anise extract, obtained by supercritical fluid extraction using CO2, has a pronounced bacteriostatic, antimycobacterial and, particularly, anti-leprosy effect, which allows its promising consideration for the development of medications based on it for practical public health. |
