Zusammenfassung: | After a brief survey of the dramatic loa (prelude) in Hispano-Philippine literature during 17th and 18th centuries, this article focuses on Felipe Pardo's Sagrada fiesta, tres veces grande (1677), a miscellaneous volumen that summarizes the festivities organized by the Dominican friars in Manila on the occasion the beatification of three members of the Order of Preachers. The book is composed of sermons, carols, riddles and, most importantly, three hagiographic plays, two loas, an interlude (entremés) and a sarao. Keywords, Hispano-Philippine Theater, Order of Preachers, Loa (prelude), critical edition. |
