Effect of the Method for Producing the ZnO–In2O3 Composite on its Sensor Activity in Hydrogen Detection

The sensor activity in the detection of hydrogen in ZnO–In 2 O 3 composites obtained by impregnating In 2 O 3 powder nanoparticles by zinc nitrate and mixing the standard nanoparticles of powders of zinc and indium oxides is compared. A higher sensor activity of the impregnated composites is found,...

Zusammenfassung:The sensor activity in the detection of hydrogen in ZnO–In 2 O 3 composites obtained by impregnating In 2 O 3 powder nanoparticles by zinc nitrate and mixing the standard nanoparticles of powders of zinc and indium oxides is compared. A higher sensor activity of the impregnated composites is found, which is due to the catalytic activity of ZnO clusters up to 10 nm in size located on the surface of larger In 2 O 3 nanocrystals.
