Zusammenfassung: | The time taken between the poison ingestion and treatment was found that 83.8% of patients introduced to hospital before 12 h of the incident, whereas 28.7% introduced before 3 h. The death rate was 1.97 % with male dominance. Inclusion Criteria * All suspected case of poisoning aged 12 years or above of both sexes * Hospitalized patients for more than 24 h. Exclusion Criteria * Patients with drug overdose and snake bite * Patients having comorbid conditions * Patients died before clinical evaluation * Patients who get discharge against medical advice. Data Collection Data was collected from the patient's case sheets who were admitted to the Medicine Department regarding demographic profile, mode and type of poisoning, delayed time in treatment, first aid, investigational details, and treatment details, hospitalization duration, and complications and data of outcome. RESULTS In the study period, 540 people were admitted to the Emergency department at Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences due to poisoning, drug overdose and snake bite. |
