Introduction and a Select Bibliography on Scandinavian Glass

THIS is the second of two successive volumes of the Journal of Glass Studies containing a section of articles devoted to Scandinavian glass by leading glass researchers from Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. The articles presented here are offshoots of joint conferences of the Smålands museum och Sveriges glasmuseum (Swedish Glass Museum), the Suomen Lasimuseo (Finnish Glass Museum), and Holmegaard Værk (Holmgaard Works) in Denmark, focusing mainly on utility glass from the Scandinavian countries. They offer new knowledge and fresh perspectives on Scandinavian glass design and note both similarities and differences in regard to the glassworks and glass design in Scandinavian countries.
